The advantages of the Mercedes V-Class
The V-Class has a unique appearance. The design combines aesthetics and an optimised air penetration coefficient which reduces fuel consumption and improves performance.
Quality is in the details at Mercedes-Benz too, with the V-class bodywork showing superior quality, especially in terms of tight and regular body joints.
The V-Class, an unbelievable modularity
The V-Class is available in three different lengths, from 4.89m to 5.37m. It also has 4 finishes: Standard, Design, Executive and Fascination (top of the range). Each one of them has of course its own options and finishes.
As standard, it is delivered with 6 seats, installed in 3 rows of 2 individual seats. But it can also be equipped with an optional rear seat to accommodate up to 8 people. It also offers a huge cargo volume, which could almost make it look like a minibus! In addition, the layout of the benches can be changed as you wish.
The MPV also has a sliding door on the left side of the vehicle. It makes it easier to load and unload, but also to get in and out of the vehicle. The interior of the vehicle offers you the same possibility, thanks to a multitude of means to facilitate loading and unloading operations. For example, the rear window has a separate opening.
Driving and occupant comfort
The driver’s cab, with its top-of-the-range materials and sophisticated design, has everything you would expect from a prestigious brand like Mercedes. The functionality and ergonomics of the driver’s cab have been given priority.
The seats of the driver and passenger(s) are of unequalled comfort. Each of the occupants has plenty of space to feel comfortable in the vehicle’s interior. The finishes are of a very high superior level.
The panoramic sunroof is also part of the package, allowing you to take a breath of fresh air and allows additional light into the cabin.
Choice of traction
Less than a year after the initial launch of the Mercedes V-Class, the star manufacturer equipped the V-Class with an all-wheel drive system called 4Matic.
Mercedes’ 4MATIC technology is not a conventional 4WD transmission. The system is intelligent enough to adapt to different types of terrain and road conditions.
When one of the four wheels begins to lose grip, the power is automatically transmitted to the opposite wheel, regardless of the wheel in question. Even if three of the four wheels are affected, the fourth wheel will adjust to maintain your traction. The guarantee of driving pleasure intact in all conditions.
The 4MATIC transmission is controlled by a 7 or 9-speed gearbox. The other systems on the vehicle (ABS, ESP and electronic traction control) make it possible to manage the behaviour of each wheel with precision.
On-board safety in the Mercedes V-Class
The V-Class is the reference in its market in terms of safety.
As standard, the V-Class assists the driver with aids such as fatigue detection, tyre pressure indicator, hill start assist, cruise control, rain and light sensor, reversing camera (parking package with panoramic cameras), electric mirrors, individual air conditioning for each seat, and many more. Both driver and passenger airbags protect all occupants of the vehicle in the event of an impact or collision.
Other equipment is planned such as:
- The trajectory corrector (ESP)
- The alert in case of risk of collision against the rear of the vehicle in front of us
- White Line Crossing Alerts
- Checking the tyre pressure level
- The Attention Assist which analyses the shape and concentration of the driver
Comfort and technologies
Thanks to the V-Class, large families can travel without any worries. It can also be used as a shuttle thanks to its 6 default seats, up to 8, which have been kept from previous versions. They can be arranged in 3 classic rows, but also opposite each other.
Among the many options, accessories and features offered by the V-Class are a high-quality Burmester sound system, brackets pre-equipped for the use of shelves at the rear, as well as the option of using various Mercedes-branded accessories: hangers, flat-sided trunk bottoms, carpets and floor protection, roof boxes and bicycle racks at the rear. The V-Class really aims to be able to carry a lot of people, equipment and luggage, and gives itself the means to do so.
The economical and powerful engines of the Mercedes V-Class
Mercedes-Benz has always been known for its reliable and powerful engines.
It is now a 4-cylinder Diesel that replaces the V6 of the old models. There are three different power ratings: 136 hp (V200 CDI), 163 hp (V220 CDI) and 190 hp (V250 BlueTEC). They are powered by a 7G-TRONIC PLUS gearbox and provide a maximum fuel consumption of 6.8 and 6.6 l/100on the manufacturer’s site, in an urban cycle.
The Mercedes V-Class was not designed to be sporty. Its objective is to comfortably transport its occupants. Thanks to the engines offered, you have a choice of economical and powerful to very powerful motors available.
It is difficult to imagine that with its size, the V-Class can behave dynamically on the road. However, this is indeed the case, and nothing can disturb the driver. Despite its 2.1 tons, the Mercedes MPV perfectly controls its roll grip in corners.
Luxurious, comfortable and very practical with its number of seats, the Mercedes V-Class will have no trouble finding a place among VIP carriers. It also has all the cards in hand to seduce large families looking for modularity.
